Welcome to BRUMFIELD Winery THE JOURNEY Life for Brumfield Winery started just over 20 years ago, well before we actually became an official winery. We visited wineries, really appreciating the smaller ones especially. We picked grapes, absorbed the passion of those we met, and made small batches of wine in seriously humble conditions. Later oenology and viticulture study helped us take the wines to a higher level. We moved to the Yarra Valley and continued making wine. We lived and made wine at a beautiful property on Brumfield Rd in Healesville. A want of other good ideas lead to us choosing BRUMFIELD as the name of our winemaking operations; the name has been a good choice and is very much a part of us. An opportunity to lease a cellar door in Yering allowed us to expand our dream of making wine in small batches and providing a unique, personal tasting experience. We've also had the opportunity to meet some wonderful visitors. From September 2009 we took the next step when we opened the new cellar door on our home property at 539 Queens Road (Cnr. Beenak Rd), Seville. (House, vineyard, winery, cellar door - all in the same place!) We will continue developing our wine range, providing an intimate tasting experience for visitors, and expanding our cafe to provide a wider range of food. Regulars don't need to worry though; our famous ploughman's lunch is here to stay!. We also will continue to provide regular exhibitions of the wonderful work of local artists. Our journey continues... Our plans are to produce small batches of really good wine from our newly planted vineyard, and produce a special wine range that will be available to selected restaurants and bottle shops. In future our small market garden and orchard will produce home grown vegetables and fruit (using organic principles) for the cafe . We may even be able to sell additional produce to visitors. Also, maybe that really special relish... Overall we want to continue indulging our love of wine production and share it with others, keeping it all small enough to enjoy what we do.......
