Brumfield Winery Dexter herd started late August 2009 with the introduction of 3 cattle from Erin Park Dexter Stud. Mandela our bull came a year later from Magpie Ridge.

Mandela - didn't look happy to have his photo taken but he is a happy boy with his lady friends. Mandela is now a dad. This vintage.... sorry this breeding season Mandela has fathered one new black short legged girl. Two long legged boys (one black and one dun coloured). His favourite things in life are his lady friends, eating and having his shoulder or neck scratched - in that order.

Delphi - She is the senior and mum of Lucky (see Lucky below). She has produced a boy, long legged, dun colour calf in the 2011 breeding season (named Cuz).

Wombat - She is just cute. A short legged Dexter and she knows how to have fun. 2011 breeding season she has produced the cutest calf. A short legged, black girl we've called La Belle.

Lavinia - The follower of the herd. Lavinia also has had her first calf which is a long legged, black coloured boy, whos is now called Friday. Lavinia sadly died 6 weeks after giving birth.

Lucky - The baby of the herd. Delphi gave birth to him after about six weeks at Seville. Mum handled everything herself. Winemaker was relieved with the easy birth. Lucky now has moved on to greener pastures and lives up the top end of Queens Road with Geoff and Barb.
